Dacia's new model 'Sandero' launched in Morocco
The new model, produced by the Moroccan car-assembling company (SOMACA), will be sold in Morocco as of June 18, 2009 at a price varying from 78,500 to 121,900 dirhams (9,800 to 15,300 U.S. dollars), depending on the motorization (diesel or gas) and the accompanying equipment.
The plant's executives said that the process of assembling and equipping the Renault-Dacia "Sandero" meets international standards, recalling that Dacia will further seek to enlarge the volume of its products that include, beside the new Sandero, Logan, Logan MCV and soon Pick-up vehicles.
Chami hailed the Dacia’s new achievement. He said currently one in each three cars sold in Morocco belongs to Dacia, considering that the integration into the local added value is the key to such success.
Manufacturers expect Sandero to sell about 2,000 units by the end of 2009. They said low-cost sedan, Logan, which was introduced in Morocco in 2004, has up to now sold 51,000 units.
