MACECE's 16th Annul Symposium on Maghreb Studies kicks off

The 16th annual symposium on Maghreb studies, held by the Moroccan American Commission for Cultural and Educational Exchange (MACECE), kicked off Thursday in Rabat, with the participation of a panel of American Fulbright grantees.

Rabat - The 16th annual symposium on Maghreb studies, held by the Moroccan American Commission for Cultural and Educational Exchange (MACECE), kicked off Thursday in Rabat, with the participation of a panel of American Fulbright grantees.

    During the three day event, about thirty American researchers and professors, in addition to Moroccan professors will discuss their research projects on Morocco and the Maghreb.

    The symposium brings together several American researchers in order to share their experience about Morocco, MACECE's Executive Secretary, Daoud Casewit, said at the opening of the event.

    Trans-civilization religious discourse, gender studies in Morocco, and immigration are among the main themes to be debated during the event.

    Created in 1982 by Morocco and the United States, MACECE is tasked with facilitating and promoting academic and cultural exchange between the peoples of the two countries.

   The Commission offers a wide range of research, study and teaching grants, chiefly within the context of the worldwide Fulbright Educational Exchange Program.
