'Mawazine génération' contest: 'Dirty Face', 'Chemical Bliss' and 'Settatfusion' awarded

"Dirty Face" and "Chemical Bliss" from Casablanca and "Settatfusion" from neighbouring Settat won on Monday the Mawazine génération contest respectively in rap, rock and fusion categories.

   "Maroc Cultures", the association which organises the ongoing Mawazine Festival, will produce the first CD of the winning bands, jury chairman, Ahmed Aydoun, told MAP.

   The contest finale took place in Nouzhat Hassan, during the first days of the eighth edition of the annual music festival "Mawazine, rhythms of the world", which kicked off last Friday.

   The winners will take part in the ninth edition of "Mawazine, rhythms of the world" festival in 2010, added Aydoun.
 
  Besides Ahmed Aydoun, the jury comprises composer, Younès Megri, musician Belaid Akhaf, Romanian opera singer, Johanna Rusu and director of Hit Radio, Younes Boumehdi.

   Mawazine génération contest aims at revealing new talents from the new generation.
