London - Morocco's participation in the 12th Women in Business International Forum is an opportunity to showcase the achievements made by Moroccan women in all fields, Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, Amina Benkhadra, who represents Morocco at the international event, told MAP on Tuesday.

"These achievements are the fruit of a royal will" evidenced notably by the reform of the family code and the nationality law, Benkhadra said, underlining the measures taken to raise women's participation in the upcoming local elections.

Benkhadra, who will give a presentation on Wednesday on energy, environment and their opportunities, noted that the forum is an opportunity for Morocco to present its viewpoint on the challenges of energy and development at the international level.

"It is also an opportunity to prove that Morocco, a country which experiences a growth spurred by its internal dynamic and the large-scale development projects, takes into account the need to develop consumption patterns towards more energy efficiency and towards the promotion of renewable energies," Benkhadra explained.

The two day-event brings together leading businesswomen and government representatives from over 21 countries to ponder on the means to promote women's role in economy.
