No case of H1N1 flu detected in Morocco, minister

   Speaking at the House of Advisor's question time, the minister said that Morocco has taken a series of measures to prevent the entry of the disease into the country, since the announcement by the World Health Organization (WHO) of the detection of the first cases in Mexico.

   She recalled the setting up of a detection and follow up system to control, on a daily basis, the entry of people into the Moroccan territory, notably those coming from countries in which the disease was detected.

   The government is mobilized to face the potential eruption of the disease by tightening control on the main  entry points throughout the kingdom, she said.

   Baddou said Morocco is ready at the medical level including medicines, equipped ambulances, as well as means of prevention and treatment.

   Some 852 million dirhams have been allocated to face H1N1 flu, part of the national action plan to prevent this disease. "Morocco is ready to fight this disease, especially after the mechanism already put in place since 2003 to fight against bird flu," she went on to say.
