Itinerant caravan in service of environment

The meeting of the organisation committee of the itinerant environment caravan held, on Wednesday in Tunis, was devoted to the examination of the development prospect of the activities of this caravan in order to promote programmes of education, sensitization and information on environment.

TUNIS - The meeting of the organisation committee of the itinerant environment caravan held, on Wednesday in Tunis, was devoted to the examination of the development prospect of the activities of this caravan in order to promote programmes of education, sensitization and information on environment.

Environment and sustainable development minister Nadhir Hamada who chaired this meeting, called the interveners to constantly work for the implementation of the programme fixed for this year (2008-2009) with the participation of all the concerned parties (regions, institutions education, associations and organisations).

This caravan supported by 45 associations and endowed with a bus equipped by a laptop connected to Internet, CD on environment achieved by the environment ministry.

In this connection, the pedagogical approach adopted aims at associating pupils to environment protection action and initiating them to the best practice in this field.

The minister praised the active contribution of the German side (German co-operation Agency GTZ, partner of this project) underlining the need to extend actions of this caravan to a larger number of schools and coordinate with the youth institutions to achieve other activities for the benefit of youth centers and children clubs, notably during the school holidays.

An exposé was presented during the meeting on the initiation approach adopted by this caravan and the methodology followed with the technical assistance of the German and Spanish agencies AECID (Spanish international and development agency). Pedagogical supports pertaining to sustainable development and environment preservation was presented on this occasion.
