Moroccan medical delegation to Gaza performed over 250 surgeries, 10,000 interventions
The Moroccan medical delegation in Gaza performed, in one month, over 250 surgeries and provided 10,000 medical interventions, said Professor Khalid Lazrak, head of the delegation.
Lazrak, who described the outcome as "very positive", told MAP-Cairo over the phone on Friday that the Moroccan delegation was highly solicited by Palestinian patients for the good quality of its services.
The Moroccan medical team treated many injured Palestinians at Al Quds hospital, he said, adding that the Moroccan doctors performed surgeries, first of their kind in Gaza, including coelioscopies.
The Moroccan delegation visited several camps to provide medical care and medications for the elderly who could not be transferred to hospital, he said.
Professor Lazrak also highlighted the role played by the psychological unit in alleviating the suffering of many Palestinians traumatized by the Israeli aggression.
The Moroccan delegation, made up of 32 doctors, specialized in intensive care, anesthesia, general surgery, psychology, orthopedics, and pediatrics, headed for Gaza on January 26, following the Israeli aggression against the strip.
