Moroccan medical mission to Gaza carried out field-based work, coordinator
The Moroccan medical mission, dispatched to Gaza following the recent Israeli aggression on the Palestinian territory, focused its humanitarian operations on field-based work to directly assist victims of this aggression, the mission's coordinator, Abdelaziz Ghali, said on Tuesday.
In conjunction with the Palestinian relief committee, the mission's mobile units carried out, during a 10-day stay, surgical operations and treated the injured and provided medicines to the sick in several cities in the Gaza Strip, said Ghali at a press conference here.
The coordinator, who noted that the situation in Gaza requires more efforts in terms of health assistance, displayed pictures showing the extent of devastation caused by the Israeli war machine. He also revealed that the Israeli military deliberately bombarded civilians, particularly children, and used internationally-prohibited bombs.
The Moroccan committee of health professionals which dispatched the mission to Gaza is elaborating a report on its action, including a part on human rights violations during the Israeli aggression, he said, adding that a documentation of the Israeli war crimes in Gaza will be provided to the parties concerned.
The medical delegation was made up of five doctors, five pharmacists and three male nurses. Part of this humanitarian mission, eight tonnes of medicines and medical supplies were also shipped to Gaza.
