Morocco to build 25 hemodialysis centers
Morocco has started building and equipping 25 hemodialysis centers in many regions across the country, Health Minister, Yasmina Baddou, said on Tuesday.
More than 1,500 patients will benefit from this operation, for which 60 millions dirhams (7.3 million U.S. dollars) have been allocated for the current year, the minister said at a House of Advisors' question time.
To succeed these efforts, the ministry has supported striking efficient partnerships between the public and the private sectors she said, adding that these partnerships aim to control the evolution of renal insufficiency diseases through providing health care to the patients, among which the ones registered in the waiting lists.
Baddou said that existing hemodialysis centers will be provided with additional medicine and human resources.
She underlined the measures taken in order to generalize access to health services and improve treatment quality, saying that the ministry strategy is based on a fair health services geographic repartition.
The official also announced the extension of medical coverage in rural zones.
