King receives envoy of head of Supreme State Council of Mauritania

King Mohammed VI of Morocco, received here Monday, Mauritanian Foreign Minister and envoy of the Head of Supreme State Council of Mauritania, General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, Mr.Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Mohamedou.

Casablanca - King Mohammed VI of Morocco, received here Monday, Mauritanian Foreign Minister and envoy of the Head of Supreme State Council of Mauritania, General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, Mr.Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Mohamedou.

    During this meeting, the Mauritanian official presented a detailed exposé on the latest developments in Mauritania and on the prospects of a return to institutional normality.

    The Monarch recalled, on this occasion, the depth of the exceptional brotherly ties between the two peoples as well as the steadfast interest of Morocco in the stability of neighboring Mauritania and in the tranquility and progress of its people.   

    The sovereign also voiced strong hope that the "road map" for achieving transition in Mauritania could lead to a return, by appropriate deadline and at a determined calendar, to normal constitutional life in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

    The audience was attended by Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taieb Fassi Fihri.
