King congratulates Hu Jintao on Olympics

King Mohammed VI has addressed a congratulation message to Chinese President Hu Jintao on the success of the 29th edition of the Olympic Games held in Beijing on August 8 through 24, 2008.

Rabat - King Mohammed VI has addressed a congratulation message to Chinese President Hu Jintao on the success of the 29th edition of the Olympic Games held in Beijing on August 8 through 24, 2008.

   "I should like, in my name and in the name of the Moroccan People, to express to you my warmest congratulations," the monarch said, underlining that "Your Great country has given the best example in terms of organization (...) while ranking first in terms of results."

   The sovereign said he has followed "with great interest and admiration" the different phases of the Olympics, including the opening and closing ceremonies "which reflected the genius of the Chinese people, and its civilizational richness."

   The message also highlighted the solid links of friendship and of fruitful cooperation between the two countries, voicing will to continue working in concert with President Hu to further consolidate these relations in all fields.
