King inaugurates several social projects east

King Mohammed VI inaugurated, Monday in Oujda (540km northeast of Rabat), several social projects, as part of the large-scale anti-poverty National Initiative for Human development (INDH).

Oujda - King Mohammed VI inaugurated, Monday in Oujda (540km northeast of Rabat), several social projects, as part of the large-scale anti-poverty National Initiative for Human development (INDH).
 
The first project is a USD 1.5Mn center for social, cultural and sports activities. Built on 8,000sqm, it will benefit a population of 20,000 and can host up to 500 people. The facility is part of Morocco's efforts to eradicate social exclusion in urban areas through strengthening basic infrastructure. The king was also briefed on a USD 962,000 compound. Spanning over 7,200sqm, the facility comprises spaces for youths and women, a library, a nursery, and sports fields.

 
The monarch enquired about the results of the National Initiative for Human Development in the region of Oujda over the 2005-07 period, which cost some USD 47.5Mn, as well of the 2008 action program which provides for 132 projects, worth USD 16Mn. Another social, cultural and educational center was inaugurated by the sovereign for a sum amounting to USD 1.5Mn. Part of the efforts to upgrade the neighborhood of Smara, this project provides a wide range of social, educational, cultural, and sports services for youths, women and children. With a hosting capacity of 500 people, the 10,000sqm center will benefit 10,247people.
                                                                             
Information were also given to the sovereign on the USD 550,000 "the citizen's house". Finally, the king inaugurated a child center worth some USD 482. Spanning on an area of 2,800sqm, this facility includes classrooms, two refectories, and a sports field.
