The Moroccan government has put 550 million dirhams (69 million dollars) to finance the 2009 election operations, a top Interior Ministry official announced on Friday.
Rabat - The Moroccan government has put 550 million dirhams (69 million dollars) to finance the 2009 election operations, a top Interior Ministry official announced on Friday.
Speaking to reporters at a press briefing, Governor, Director of Administrative Affairs at the Interior Ministry, Mustapha Kheidri, said 50 million dirhams were directed to revise electoral lists, and 200 million dirhams to fund the electoral campaigns of the political parties, party unions and trade unions.
He added that 250 million dirhams were earmarked to logistics, and 50 millions to hold the elections of professional chambers, prefectures and regional councils, and to the renewal of one third of the members of the House of Advisors.
