Rabat - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taib Fassi Fihri, held on Thursday in Rabat, talks with his Jordanian peer, Nasser Judeh on bilateral cooperation and on the latest development of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

He recalled that Morocco has always pleaded for the creation of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Qods Acharif as its capital.

The FM stressed that the two kingdoms are on the same page as regards the way and approach to adopt in order to settle this dispute and defend the Palestinian cause, adding that Morocco is willing to pursue the joint efforts in concert with brotherly Arab countries.

The Jordanian diplomat recalled, for his part, the recent actions taken in the Middle East to re-launch the peace process, settle the Israel-Palestinian conflict, build a Palestinian state and restore the rights to the Syrian and Lebanese Arabs.

Judeh underlined that the convergence of the political views of both Morocco and Jordan is likely to benefit the Arab-Islamic interests, hailing the efforts made by King Mohammed VI in this vein.

He said talks with Fassi Fihri also touched on the "brotherly, privileged and historical" bilateral ties, and on the importance of encouraging the initiatives aimed to consolidate relations between Morocco and Jordan, especially in terms of investments.
