Chamakh, best African player in Ligue 1, French Radio

The Morocco international Marouane Chamakh was chosen best African player in the French premier football league, Radio France International said on Tuesday.

   "It is logical: Chamakh (…) achieved his best ever season with 13 goals, and 6 decissive passes," the French radio said on its website, adding that English clubs are targeting the Moroccan striker, who led Bordeaux to their sixth Ligue 1 title.

   Chamakh, who could remain at Bordeaux, outranked Senegalese players, Mamadou Niang and Souleymane Diawara, who play in the French clubs of Marseille and Bordeaux respectively.
