Morocco harvests 12 medals in third Mediterranean Taekwondo Cup

Rabat - Moroccan teams have harvested twelve medals in the two-day third Mediterranean Taekwondo Cup, organised in Rabat over the weekend.

   In the women's category, Morocco ranked first on Sunday with six medals (4 gold and 2 silver), ahead of the Spanish team which won seven medals (2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze), and the Lebanese team with two medals (1gold and 1 bronze).

   In the men's category, Morocco secured the second place with six medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze), while the first place went to France with 3 gold medals and 1 bronze, and the second place went to Spain with five medals (1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze).

   Fifteen countries participated in the event, including France, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Greece.

   On the sidelines of this sports events, the President of Moroccan Royal Federation of Taekwondo, Driss Hilali was elected President of the Mediterranean Union of Taekwondo.
