Moroccan athletes Mohamad Ahansal (men) and Didi Touda (women) claimed the 24th Sand Marathon, maintaining their title as champions of this endurance race.
Errachidia - Moroccan athletes Mohamad Ahansal (men) and Didi Touda (women) claimed the 24th Sand Marathon, maintaining their title as champions of this endurance race.
Ahansal, who won this Marathon twice (in 1998 and 2008), claimed the 2009 competition with 16:27:26, ahead of countryman, Aziz El Akkad (16:31:40) and Jordanian Salama Al Akra (17:15:06).
In the women's category, Morocco's Didi Touda, winner of last year's edition, ended up in the first place with a total of 23:30:44, ahead of the Spanish Louz Pierez Carbajo (24:38:32) and Rosa Espachs Olivera (24:41:45).
